When I IMAGINE the future of Community UCC, I first of all place our church s future within the context of the wider church and the growing commonwealth of God. I imagine our congregation as a vital participant in these broader concerns, so my imaginings for CUCC reflect my  understanding of the nature of God s commonwealth as a whole.
With that in mind, here are a few of the possibilities I imagine for our church:

A vision for CUCC
DRIVE THROUGH PRAYER
I think people need prayer. We are on a busy street. Just like when we do drive through ashes
on Ash Wednesday, people could drive through for prayer. They sit in their car and tell the
pastor or lay person what they want to pray about and the person prays with them. When drive
through prayer is open, there could be a big sign out front inviting people to drive through for
prayer. It gives God the opportunity to urge people to pray. The other benefit of the big sign
inviting people to pray with us, is that it will get people’s attention.
Inspiration for me comes from the song, “Do Something” by Matthew West. mhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_RjndG0IX8

A Vision -
I see our church building being a home for many congregations who have given up their
building. The worship space would be shared. Each congregation could have their own part-
time pastor and worship service in their own tradition. However, the other parts of a God-
loving community would be shared. There would be a shared music program, shared children’s
programs, shared teen and young adult programs, shared mission programs and the list goes
on. Pastors would work with one another and with all worshippers using their strengths to
contribute to the whole. The church building might change its name to the
Multidenominational Worship Center.
